About AIPMT

This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.

There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control. The counseling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the DGHS and the Counseling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted by their respective Authorities.

Pattern of AIPMT

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 03 hours.

Language of the Question Papers:-

  • Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi.
  • Option of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the application form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed later.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
  • He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes. Candidate must born on or between
    • 01.01.85 to 01.01.98 (SC/ST/OBC Category)
    • 01.01.90 to 01.01.98 (Other Category)
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and J&K
    • Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception.
      1. They are not eligible to seek admission for MBBS/BDS seats in Medical/ Dental Colleges in the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K.
      2. They are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh and J&K.

Admission & Reservation

An All India merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test as mentioned under rule 15 of this Bulletin and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota Seats and seats under the control of participating State Governments/Universities/Institutions from the said list only by following their Reservation Policies and other admission criteria.

Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges Under 15% All India Quota:

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
  • 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions

Admit Card

The CBSE will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of AIPMT 2014 on the Board’s website. Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. Candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by the post.

Mode of Submission of Application Form & Fee Details

A candidate can apply for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) only on-line by logging on to www.aipmt.nic.in

Before submission of application form, make the following preparations:

  • If decided to pay fee through Debit/Credit Card, check the validity of the Card and keep it ready with you while logging on to website for submitting application form
  • If decided to pay fee off-line mode, choose the Bank or e-Post Office for depositing the Fee through Challan/Deposit Slip downloaded from website www.aipmt.nic.in after completing Part-II of Registration
  • After Depositing Fee in the Bank/e-Post office, the Deposit Slip bearing Application Registration Number, Name and address of the Bank branch with branch code/Post Office with Pin Code where fee is deposited and transaction ID number be kept ready with you while logging on to website for final submission of Part-III of the application form
  • Print the Confirmation Page of online application after final submission at Part-III of the application

Syllabus

The Question Papers for the test shall be based on a common syllabus notified by the Medical council of India.The Medical Council of India (MCI) recommended the following syllabus for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test(AIPMT), MBBS/BDS courses across the country (AIPMT) after review of various State syllabi as well as those prepared by CBSE, NCERT and COBSE. This is to establish a uniformity across the country keeping in view the relevance of different areas in Medical Education.
